South West is England's top region for Excellence
The Winners have been announced for the national Visit England awards, and with 6 of these from the South West the region's position as England's top region has been further reinforced.
The Visit England awards link with the South West Tourism Excellence Awards which held its awards ceremony in Bristol on 2 February, when 135 awards were announced at an event attended by 469 of the region’s top businesspeople. This followed a rigorous selection process, including judging of a record 560 entries from across the South West with many of them winning also in the Dorset Tourism Awards, Cornwall Tourism Awards, Bristol, Bath & Somerset Tourism Awards and Devon Tourism Awards. During the winter, the regional entries have been pitted against further entries from across the country, with finalists all invited to the VisitEngland awards event in London on 24 April, when the winners were presented.
The National winners were Glazebrook House Hotel from Devon, Trethem Mill Touring Park, Bosinver Farm Cottages & Eden Project from Cornwall, The Anchor Inn from Dorset and Gloucester Tourist Information Centre.
