Devon Celebrates National Winners

Last night saw the finale of the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2022/23, where the national winners were crowned from hundreds of tourism businesses across England including hotels, self-catering accommodation, B&Bs, glamping operators, attractions, restaurants, pubs and museums. 

The winners were announced at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter hosted by Alex Polizzi, where Devon came away with 2 national winners:

SILVER

The Pig at Combe

BRONZE

The Cottages at Blackadon Farm

 

As a Region, the South West was also proud to celebrate national Awards for:

Bowood Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort

Cotswolds Tourism

WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre

Hendra Holiday Park

 

In addition, there was also a special Outstanding Contribution to Tourism award presented to England’s coast, presented to Sam Richardson with references to our significant South West coast line.  A special Travel Content Gold award was presented to Alicia Miller of The Independent for her feature on a classic Cotswold weekend, car free. We also celebrated three Superstar finalists from the South West – Dave Paynter from WWT Slimbridge, Geoff Rose from Shaldon Wildlife Trust and Rihanna Harris and Chris Burdon from Stonehenge Stone Circle Experience.

Their route to national success was by entering their local awards scheme – all entries for this year need to be submitted before the 18 June deadline – full details of all the categories and how to enter can be found here
